Matthew 5:17-19 and The Hebrew roots movement

This is probably The chief verse that The Hebrew roots Movement uses in The idea that we  must keep  The law of Moses.

They would usually tell you that is heaven and earth still here? given the answer they want is yes, then so is the law but It important to  understand several factors of this verses.

1. If they are going to use this as an argument t hen they are still under every Jot and tittle! Does anyone keep that? I doubt it! The movement places it self into a death trap with this argument.

2.  There was no new Covenant, Nor there was The new testament letters yet, Nor the death or resurrection putting The law out of  place eph 2:14-16 and thus The law has not been fulfilled yet.

3. They refer to The heavens and earth but scripture gives us that correct meaning of interpretation for this saying.

But,” some surmise, “does not the text affirm that the law would last until ‘heaven and earth’ pass away?” No, only that it would be “easier” for the universe to pass away than for the law of God not to fulfill its mission (cf. Luke 16:17).

Now lets take a good look at luke 24:27

Luke 24:27

King James Version (KJV)
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.luke 24:44-47 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that **all** things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me

what you know? Jesus outright saying now that everything is fulfilled

What is The Purpose of The Law now?  It purpose Now is to lead us to Christ
Galatians 3:24 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.

What does The law do?
20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The law increases our sin! it reveals The reason for a savior!

The law was never given for anyone to become righteous but just The opposite, to show you how sinful you are romans 5:20 tied in with
1 Timothy 1:9We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

Now for those in Christ we are not under The condemnation power of The law but had been set free from it regulations that were fulfilled in Christ  because we could not keep it.

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility

I hope people will not  rest into law because they no rest but condemnation but rest in Love and knowing Jesus kept The whole law on your behalf!
